Reunión de Wash-Hub Centroamérica | San Salvador – El Salvador
El Dr. Miguel Villarroel participó en la Reunión de Wash-Hub, celebrada en San Salvador el 14 de marzo de 2025.
En el marco del 140.º aniversario de la Cruz Roja Salvadoreña y basado en el pilar de sostenibilidad de la nota conceptual de Wash-Hub, las Sociedades Nacionales resaltan la necesidad de establecer mecanismos que aseguren la continuidad y el crecimiento de esta iniciativa regional. Esta visión a largo plazo se inicia desde el primer año de implementación, en coherencia con la Declaración de Guatemala de abril de 2023, que insta a promover Wash-Hub ante donantes y aliados, tanto dentro como fuera del Movimiento, para garantizar recursos programáticos y técnicos que aseguren su sostenibilidad.
Con este objetivo, se impulsa durante el 140.º aniversario una reunión de alto nivel de las Sociedades Nacionales que integran Wash-Hub, para dialogar sobre los avances, la estructura de coordinación y las próximas acciones, contribuyendo así al fortalecimiento de la respuesta humanitaria en agua, saneamiento y promoción de la higiene en la región.

Wash-Hub Central America Meeting | San Salvador – El Salvador
Dr. Miguel Villarroel took part in the Wash-Hub Meeting, held in San Salvador on March 14, 2025.
As part of the 140th anniversary of the Salvadoran Red Cross and based on the sustainability pillar of the Wash-Hub concept note, National Societies emphasize the need to establish mechanisms ensuring the continuity and growth of this regional initiative. This long-term vision starts from the first year of implementation, aligned with the Guatemala Declaration of April 2023, which calls for promoting Wash-Hub to donors and partners, within and outside the Movement, to secure programmatic and technical resources for its sustainability.
With this goal, a high-level meeting of the National Societies that comprise Wash-Hub is promoted during the 140th anniversary to discuss progress, coordination structure, and upcoming actions, reinforcing the humanitarian response in water, sanitation, and hygiene promotion.
