On May 23, 2020, Dr. Mario Villarroel (President of the Venezuelan Red Cross), Dr. Miguel Villarroel (Vice President of the Venezuelan Red Cross and Vice President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies ) held a virtual meeting with Mr. Walter Cotte (IFRC Regional Director), Mr. Michele Di Tomasso (Head of the IFRC Operation in Venezuela) and Marissa Soberanis (Head of Projects in Venezuela).
At that meeting, it was possible to analyze the strategies that the IFRC carries out in Venezuela, and what are the operational solutions to face COVID-19 in that country.
