XXII Inter-American Conference of the Red Cross | Nassau – Bahamas

From June 5 to 8, 2023, the XXII Inter-American Conference of the Red Cross was held in Nassau, the main humanitarian event in our region, which brought together the delegations of the 34 National Red Cross Societies of America to discuss humanitarian and of development that respond to present and future needs of the Continent.

The Inter-American Conference takes place every 4 years in order to define the strategy of the Red Cross in the region. This year it took place from June 5 to 8 in Nassau, Bahamas and hosted more than 250 people from the 32 countries of the American continent, as well as numerous leaders representing different countries of the world. America has 34 National Red Cross Societies, the IFRC Regional Office for America, as well as various delegations of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC). The Inter-American Conference is a platform for dialogue, exchange of knowledge and awareness to organize and coordinate within the Red Cross the humanitarian work in the region during the next four years. Its results were gathered in a written commitment, which has great impact and is key to promoting cooperation, collaboration networks and alliances between National Societies and other key actors.
