Between February 7 and 10 Dr. Miguel Villarroel, Vice President of the IFRC, accompanied Dr. Francesco Rocca, President of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies.
Dr. Rocca during his visit to Venezuela received an honorary doctorate from the Santa María University.
Dr. Rocca also had a meeting with the Ambassador of Italy in Venezuela, Mr. Silvio Mignano. Then I participate in a press conference at the headquarters of the Venezuelan Red Cross to express the official position of the International Federation (IFRC) regarding humanitarian aid to Venezuela.
Subsequently, President Rocca held a meeting with the Volunteers of the National Society of the Venezuelan Red Cross. He also held a meeting with the Special Commission of the National Assembly of Venezuela for Humanitarian Aid. During the visit, Dr. Francesco Roca participated in the National Steering Committee of the Venezuelan Red Cross, where he received the highest condemnation of that institution, such as the “Augusto Pinot” Medal.
To end his visit, Dr. Rocca held a private meeting with the Apostolic Nuncio of Venezuela, his Excellency Aldo Giordano.
